Website Research and Development

Websites are often part of a multi-platform media. This can include examples of media institutions using different methods of communication to reach its target audienece but can aslo refer to the audiences use of different platforms to access related texts to increase their experience of a text or topic.

The codes and conventions in terms of layout and design.

• The key consideration in effective web design is usability , therefore websites need to be clear, logical and easy to navigate
• There are several conventional types of layout and design for websites and often they emulate some form of old media
• A grid system is used to seperate sections of a website and to present information in small easy to access segments.
• The centre of the page is often used for the main content with navigations tools on the left and/or across the top of the page and links tyo more detailed information on the right.
• Background and font colour is often used to seperate different types of information images are used to illustrate as much as possible to add visual interest.

The technical codes used.

• Certain technical codes are now common place on websites. Many sites provide moving image or audio content and also provide some form of audience activity or interaction . sometimes this is relate to the content of the site so film marketing sites often offer downloads such as music and images whereas news-based sites provide areas for audience member to comment on published news stories.

The codes and conventions in terms of content of website

• Websites which contain factual information will look different to those created for entertainment. There are distinct conventions in terms of news websites, film promotion websites , websites focusing on health issues etc.

As you can see the home page is of the concert dates this is the main visit for most consumers and we have also placed our strategicly !

In contrast to a rock/indie band i have looked at other artist i used beyonce.

This is more classy and effective and shows the hyperlinks first to let the audience go deeper into the website.

Filming today

We managed to film alot of our last part of our film, it was the fight scene and we filmed a variety of different angles which adds to our portfolio of shots ! We still need to film the first opening scene where James puts the CD into the player in his car and starts the song which we are basing our story on ! we will upload a draft video onto our blogs soon and will have it finished mid febuary.

Analysis of similar product

Here is Ed Sheerans drunk it highlights a young man and him gettng drunk drowning his inner feelings and desires towards a girl that he has appeared to have lost.

The music video highlights genre characteristics with lots of partying and drinking. However its not a typical music video this sort of screen play would go with dance/trance tracks which would show quick cuts and distorting screen shots.

There is a comparison with the lyrics and visuals and it talks about getting drunk which is clearly what the characters are doing.

There is not really a comparison between music and visuals because as stated earlyer its in places fast paced and doesnt flow with the music rythm however the choregrapher slows it down to get into time with the music.

Filming part 3

We are waiting for the ICT consultants to put on the shots we have filmed and need to analyse the shots we have done and put together what we have and add to it. Today we aim to finish off the first half of our production and wait for our other member to film the last part .
We hope to finalise that half and work on the next half soon

Filming part two

We have used a half day today to film a select few shots for our media and we have to have a rough cut in by today. We will put it together and hope to have it uploaded by the end of the week. here are the locations we used today for our filming.

Filming part one

After our Recce shots me and my partner decided to start filming we have decided on a location with is a urban setting and inside a house. We filmed the two freinds (Me and James) socialising showing our bond of freindship is strong ! We aim to have a rough cut in soon and will be updating our blog with more previews of the shots we have done tomorrow.

 Here is a bay window we intend to use this when the lyrics say open up and a ray of sunshine comes through!

 This is the street we may do it on and have a shot of a lonely boy out in the rain preferably and then a shot with the boy and the girl driving past
